Iota Gamma Chapter

The Iota Gamma chapter of Theta Tau was founded May 22, 1999 at the University of Cincinnati. We have 60+ active members and over 500 lifetime members. As the University of Cincinnati's only co-ed professional and social engineering fraternity, the Iota Gamma chapter of Theta Tau strives for success in our brothers: professionally, academically, and socially.

Our Committees

Professional Development

The Professional Development committee is responsible for maintaining a high standard of professional interest among its members through planning and executing professional and academic activities. Some of the events hosted by this committee are Understanding Finances, Alumni Panel, Resume Review, etc.

Community Service

The Community Service Committee is in charge of planning and leading volunteer and service events that give back to the community. The committee regularly organizes opportunities for members to get involved in hands-on service projects, support local causes, and make a positive impact. Whether it's helping out at events, collecting donations, or volunteering time, this group works to create meaningful ways for everyone to contribute.

Brotherhood

The Brotherhood Committee plays a key role in building strong connections within the chapter by promoting friendship and brotherhood. This committee is responsible for planning a variety of social events and activities that bring members together outside of regular meetings and responsibilities. The Brotherhood Committee works to create a fun and inclusive environment through intramurals, cookouts etc  where everyone feels welcome. These events help strengthen relationships among members and contribute to a positive and supportive chapter culture.

Rush

The Rush Committee is responsible for planning and running all Rush and Recruitment events, starting with Rush Week at the beginning of each semester and continuing until bids are extended. Over the course of 2–3 weeks, this committee organizes events that give current members the chance to meet and connect with potential new members. As the first faces you'll see when joining the club, Rush Committee members help set the tone for what brotherhood is all about. For more details, check out the Rush tab.

Special Events

The Special Events Committee is in charge of organizing some of the most anticipated and memorable events of the year. This major chapter traditions like Founder's Day, Semi-Formal, Formal, and Retreat. These events are often highlights of our calendar—moments that create memories that brothers talk about for months (and even years) afterward. From planning the logistics to making sure everyone is fed, the Special Events Committee ensures these occasions are meaningful, fun, and unforgettable.

Alumni Relations

The Alumni Relations Committee works to strengthen and maintain relationships with alumni. This committee focuses on building a strong network that supports future events, collaborations, and ongoing engagement. Fundraising

The Fundraising Committee is responsible for planning and executing events that help raise money to support the chapter’s goals, activities, and initiatives. Whether it’s funding service projects, social events, or operational needs, this committee plays a key role in ensuring the financial health of our chapter. One of its regular events is our semi-annual Euchre Night. 

Health and Safety

The Health and Safety Committee is committed to promoting the well-being of every member of our chapter. This committee works to create a safe, respectful, and supportive environment by ensuring that all activities and events follow both local chapter guidelines and national bylaws. Responsibilities include risk management, safety planning for events, and educating members on policies and best practices. The Health and Safety Committee plays a vital role in maintaining a positive and secure chapter experience for everyone.

Marketing and Social Media

The Marketing Committee is responsible for promoting our chapter both internally and externally. This includes creating content that highlights our events, values, and culture to engage current members and attract potential new ones. The committee manages our social media presence, designs flyers and promotional materials, and helps develop chapter-branded clothing and merchandise. By maintaining a consistent and creative public image, the Marketing and Social Media team plays a key role in shaping how our chapter is seen on campus and in the community.
